Srushti began to prepare herself for her UPSC exam in her third year as a student in engineering. After her graduation, she questioned whether she would be content with her engineering job. Eventually, she realised that civil service was what she loved and focused on the field. She was encouraged by her parents to pursue an employment in the civil service and to prepare for tests. She stayed motivated and determined to become the IAS officer. The process of achieving UPSC is a lot of work. She was also preparing for UPSC exams while taking engineering classes. She allocated time for this exam preparation every day. She studied for the engineering exams in just one and a half months, avoiding social life. Her belief is that staying focused on the task at hand is key to passing the exam. She was determined to pass the exam on the first go and put in a lot of work. She would read the newspaper in order to keep abreast of the latest news every single day. Rajya Sabha TV and online study materials were also a great help to her.
