Remy Ma (Reminisce Mackie) is an American rapper from America. Remy was one of the few female hip-hop artists to make it big on the American scene. Big Pun, a rapper from New York City who was impressed by her poems and rhymes, asked her if she would join his group Terror Squad. Columbia Records hired Remy as a recording artist in 2000. It was M.O.P who provided her with the first big break when she released "Ante Up Remix. Remy's debut album titled 'There's something About Remy that is based on a true story' was released in the year 2006. The album became an instant hit with singles like Whateva or Conceited. It was only a matter of time before she could begin her career of dreams when she received a jail sentence. In the eight years of her life, six were spent in prison.
